Okay, just to reiterate what I said in my journal, this is NOT part of the Seven Cities project. It's just some crazy idea I had based off a real dream.

The dream basically went that someone had been framed for releasing a powerful demon from its prison.
I thought the notion was kinda cool, so I ran with it and created this, which, of course, has a story behind it.

Subaru lives in an massively AU version of Kodoma Town where demons terrorize the people on a regular basis.
To protect themselves from the deoms, the people of the Church created spherical prisons called Wards, which entrap and weaken demons using their own dark energies.
Enter our hero. Subaru was given the task of transporting a pair of Wards to the museum for display. However, while he was doing this, he was attacked and one of the Wards, which contained a very powerful demon warlord named Abbadon within it, was stolen. The other was exposed to light, which can weaken the hold a Ward has on its prisoner. The second Ward contained a demon named Arioch (ARR-ee-ok).
Subaru was accused of allowing both demons to escape and was essentially ostricizied from the community. He's determined to clear his name, however, and actually teams up with Arioch, who seems to have his own grudge against Abbadon.
The result is a being that is simultaneously Human and Demon.
It has no name because I am lazy.
I don't want to call it Dark Rockman because the prefix "Dark" seems to suggest darkness of personality as well as attribute. Demon Rockman (for lack of a better name) is merely determined to clear his name, and is anxious to protect the people of his hometown from Abbadon's attacks, whereas a "Dark Rockman" might actually join Abbadon to further his own ends.

This is as far as that little story goes, as the concept found here is already way too similar to the concept of the Chosen Ones found in the Seven Cities project (see journal). I just wanted to draw Rockman with cool markings and black armor. Fun fact: Demon Rockman's sign is the Celtic Cross beneath his name. xD Irony!

I had a lot of fun coloring this, and I learned a lot from it, too, especially when it came to coloring the glowing red markings. I think I did a half-decent job with that, and I like how it turned out in the end. Once I finish the Seven Citis project, I may go back and and a back drop.
